Fall Sermon Series: The Blessed Life!
Join us for our fall sermon series, with Pastor Roger, The BLESSED Life! 'Embracing counter cultural values in the age of self care.' Jesus said, "if anyone follow me, let them deny themselves, take up their cross and follow me!"
In today’s world—marked by uncertainty, conflict, economic strain, and deep social division—the Beatitudes in both Matthew and Luke offer a radical countercultural vision of how to live. Matthew emphasizes inner humility, mercy, and spiritual hunger, calling us to embody a heart posture that trusts God despite turmoil.
Luke, however, confronts the harsh realities of physical poverty, hunger, and injustice, warning those who find comfort in wealth and ease while others suffer. Together, they challenge us to resist fear, selfishness, and apathy by choosing compassion, peacemaking, and solidarity with the marginalized.
In difficult times, these teachings remind us that God blesses those who remain faithful, meek, and just—offering not escape from hardship, but purpose and hope through it.
Join us as we journey through God’s word together, to discover, the blessed life!

Alpha
What Is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Each session includes food, a short film, and a discussion where you can share what you think with a small group of people just like you. Sessions look at different questions about life and faith and no question is out of bounds. Simply put, it’s an open, informal, and honest space to discuss as much or as little as you like.
Alpha creates a safe space for us to connect with others and unpack these ideas without fear of being corrected or judged.
Trying Alpha has never been easier! Join us in-person on Monday evenings at Whitby Christian starting October 20th for 10 weeks (there will be a break for Thanksgiving on October 13th) from 6:30pm - 8:15pm. There’s also an extra Saturday session on November 29th.
If at any point you decide Alpha isn't for you, there’s no cost, no pressure, and no follow-up. It’s simply an open invitation to explore and connect with people on a deeper level. Why not come along for the first evening to see what you think?
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is designed to be a space for people who wouldn’t typically go to church and wouldn’t call themselves Christians. It’s for the open-minded, the curious, and/or those who wrestle with life’s big questions—questions about hope, purpose, meaning, and love. The reality is, most of us are just too busy to think them through. This is why Alpha exists.
If you already call yourself a Christian, consider inviting a friend who’s spiritually searching to come along with you.
Why do I need to sign up?
Registering for Alpha helps us to host you well— we can make sure we have enough food, place you in a small group with people like you, etc. Once you’ve filled out the form, we’ll be in touch with more details about what to expect.

Gospeler Small Group Study
Turning Darkness into Light One Conversation at a Time
When Jesus commissioned his disciples to go and make disciples, he invited all his followers—including us—to join his work in the world. As followers of Christ, we have the best news that everyone needs. But are we sharing it? In this six-session series, author and businessman Willie Robertson encourages us to embrace our identity as ”gospelers,“ ready and able to share the good news of Jesus. We don't need to preach to share the gospel; we simply need to have meaningful conversations.

Your Story Has A Villain Small Group Study
Identify Spiritual Warfare and Learn How to Defeat the Enemy
There is an Enemy among us. You may know who he is, but you may not know what he is about. Do you know how he wages war? Do you know how he targets you specifically? He’s the villain who wants to change your story in the hopes you live isolated, powerless, discouraged, and defeated.
Are you ready to change your narrative and live a different story today? If you’re weary from the struggle and ready to experience life as God intended, this five-session series with Jonathan Pokluda will help you explore the tactics of Satan, equip you to overcome spiritual battles, and remind you of the victory already secured through Jesus.

Operation Christmas Child Speaker
Join us in the fireside room on Sunday May 25th at 6:30pm as Special Guest Speaker Elena Nicholson shares with us her story of receiving a shoebox as a child, and the impact it has had on her life.
Elena Nicholson was 8 years old when she and her sister were moved from an abusive, poverty-stricken home into an orphanage in the former Soviet Union. At a time when she was feeling unloved, she was handed an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. It was the first gift she had ever received.
With the gift, Elena was given a booklet, which seemed like an unbelievable fairy tale. It said the Creator of the universe loved her. She began to pray, hoping for a family for her and her sister—a prayer that was answered in 2004 by a loving family in the United States.
