Alpha Day
What Is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Each session includes food, a short film, and a discussion where you can share what you think with a small group of people just like you. Sessions look at different questions about life and faith and no question is out of bounds. Simply put, it’s an open, informal, and honest space to discuss as much or as little as you like.
Alpha creates a safe space for us to connect with others and unpack these ideas without fear of being corrected or judged.
Trying Alpha has never been easier! Join us in-person on Monday evenings at Whitby Christian starting April 28th for 9 weeks (with a break for Victoria Day in May) from 6:30pm - 8:15pm. There’s also an extra Saturday session on June 21st.
If at any point you decide Alpha isn't for you, there’s no cost, no pressure, and no follow-up. It’s simply an open invitation to explore and connect with people on a deeper level. Why not come along for the first evening to see what you think?
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is designed to be a space for people who wouldn’t typically go to church and wouldn’t call themselves Christians. It’s for the open-minded, the curious, and/or those who wrestle with life’s big questions—questions about hope, purpose, meaning, and love. The reality is, most of us are just too busy to think them through. This is why Alpha exists.
If you already call yourself a Christian, consider inviting a friend who’s spiritually searching to come along with you.
Why do I need to sign up?
Registering for Alpha helps us to host you well— we can make sure we have enough food, place you in a small group with people like you, etc. Once you’ve filled out the form, we’ll be in touch with more details about what to expect.

Operation Christmas Child Speaker
Join us in the fireside room on Sunday May 25th at 6:30pm as Special Guest Speaker Elena Nicholson shares with us her story of receiving a shoebox as a child, and the impact it has had on her life.
Elena Nicholson was 8 years old when she and her sister were moved from an abusive, poverty-stricken home into an orphanage in the former Soviet Union. At a time when she was feeling unloved, she was handed an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. It was the first gift she had ever received.
With the gift, Elena was given a booklet, which seemed like an unbelievable fairy tale. It said the Creator of the universe loved her. She began to pray, hoping for a family for her and her sister—a prayer that was answered in 2004 by a loving family in the United States.

WC Students: Pursue Convention 2025

This conference creates an atmosphere where Pentecostal ideals—such as passionate worship, Spirit-led teaching, and the pursuit of spiritual gifts—are embraced and practiced.
In addition to life-changing spiritual moments, the conference features fun activities, sports, and after-parties, giving students the chance to build friendships, make memories, and simply enjoy being together. It’s a weekend filled with faith, fun, and community that you won’t want to miss!
